Common Farm have a very
good life which really shows
as Janet sells all her stores at
Skipton and has achieved an
extremely good reputation. She
told me: “Lims are just what the
market needs as they always
achieve a good weight and
look, and are great to breed”.
Quite often butchers buy in fat
to sell with the beef because
there is so little fat on the
Limousins.

The Limousins are great to
breed and generally are of
good temperament apart from
when calving. Janet recently
invested in a Bateman handling
system which greatly reduces
the risk of crush and kick
injuries, particularly as she is
keen to do most jobs on the
farm – which also includes
plumbing, electrical, welding
etc though when she does
need help she always tries to
use local people.
