Their new abattoir re-opened last year, the offices have now been relocated at the back of their yard and just a matter of weeks ago they opened a brand new shop complete with a fabulous and lengthy meat counter. As a result, they are feeling good right now, as James explained: “We have invested into this new shop and extended our range and variety of products substantially. We are now also licensed to sell beers and wine and that really helps the locals as we are now effectively the village shop - our only pub, The Cayley Arms, closed down a while ago. Customers who come in for steaks or whatever invariably fancy a bottle of wine to go with their meal and it is great to be able to offer that service for them, too.” Brian always had some stock around having brought cattle, sheep and pigs back from livestock markets; but both James and Anthony have stock of their own in addition to what dad buys at auction.
