I say delightful even more readily than I would have done a few months ago having recently visited Anthony Glaves’ lambing sheds. In order to get to them we took a little back route through the village where its beauty really comes to the fore with a stream, bridges and a variety of wildlife. It was August 1972 when Brian received notification from his employer that he was going to sell him the business and having had a word with his good lady, Doreen, they took the plunge. I’ve written about farming and the rural world of Yorkshire since 1991 and Brian has always been one of our county’s real characters whether judging at agricultural shows or buying stock at markets.
