Events 140th Driffield Show will continue its winning formula Wednesday 22nd July at Driffield Showground, East Yorkshire »»Wednesday, 22nd July this year will see the Driffield Showground celebrating the 140th Driffield Show. Such a long and successful tradition is surely testimony to the Show’s winning formula of celebrating the traditional while embracing the future. The Driffield Show has now become a ‘must do’ event on the calendars of both the farming community continues to offer fantastic value for money for families with advance tickets now being available to purchase at the discounted rate of £13 for adults, £11 for senior citizens, £5 for children - plus in an attempt to kee prices for families down to an absolute minimum a family ticket can be purchased in advance for only £31! Another bonus is that the ample car parking facilities continue to be free. For those opting to use a greener form of transport, however, a free shuttle bus will be provided between Driffield Town Centre, Driffield Train Station and the Showground and will be operating every 20 minutes. As a further incentive, anyone travelling to Driffield by train on Show day 20 Apr/May 2015 www.farmers-mart.co.uk also receives £1 discount off the Show’s admission simply by showing their ticket at the Showground. As well as the exceptional livestock and carcase section, visitors can look forward to browsing around over 450 trade stands, Handicraft and Horticulture marquees, the fur and feather section and popular companion dog show. RURAL CRAFTS & NATIONAL FENCING COMPETITION The Rural Craft Demonstration Area, which increases in popularity each year, will again contain a wealth of traditional crafts and the Show will play host to the seventh Landscape and Fencing News sponsored National Fencing Competition which continues to strengthen and creates a huge amount of both national and increasingly international acclaim. As well as the wealth of equine expertise that we come to associate with the Driffield Show, the Woolley and Parks-sponsored Main Ring will also feature entertainment from the amazing Royal Signals White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team who will be providing nailbiting entertainment for visitors during the day with their gravity-defying stunts and highly honed display techniques! Grandstand seats are also available in advance for only £10 ensuring an excellent view of all proceedings in the main ring plus the knowledge that if you need to recharge your batteries you are guaranteed a seat for the day! In the popular Beverley Building Society Activity Arena, there will be a variety of activities throughout the day including Lurcher Racing, Gun Dog Displays, Birds of Prey Demonstrations.
