Our Assistant Park Naturalist , Joe Lembo , is a gaming enthusiast , and he ’ ll be at Bluegill Shelter at W . S . Gibbs Memorial Park on the first and third Tuesdays of the month to enjoy a game and some fresh air with you ! He ’ ll have a few tabletop games provided by White Flag Games with him for you to try , and you ’ re also welcome to bring your own favorite family-friendly game to play !

Reports have been coming in from McCloud Nature Park regarding a mysterious nature artifact , and our naturalists need to assemble a team of Nature Code Breakers to find it ! For each clue and puzzle we solve , it will lead us one step closer to the mysterious artifact of McCloud Nature Park . As a Nature Code Breaker , wear closed-toe shoes or boots that are comfortable to walk in and bring your water bottle and your thinking cap !

Atlatl Workshop Saturday , April 23 , 1 p . m . McCloud Nature Park
Imagine walking across the vast snowy landscapes of the Ice Age , tracking a woolly mammoth with your hunting party . Your weapon of choice is the atlatl . This weapon was powerful enough in a group to take out such a large creature ! Join the naturalists at McCloud Nature Park and make your very own atlatl with blunt-tipped darts ! Your atlatl kit comes with one atlatl and three 5-foot-long darts . RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 16 THROUGH ADULT FEE : $ 48 PER PROJECT ( UP TO 2 PEOPLE PER PROJECT ) ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY MARCH 26 APPROXIMATE PROGRAM DURATION : 2 HOURS
