Join us for a night at one of our parks! You’ ll get the rare chance to experience our trails in the evening with a naturalist to guide you. Each night hike, we will be looking for what the woods have to offer: bats, owls, fireflies, and more! This program will last about 1.5 hours and will trek easy to moderate trails. Our parks have a variety of paved, gravel, and grassy trails, so come prepared! Small flashlights will be available for use, but light usage will be minimized in order to get the best experience and to avoid disrupting wildlife. In the event of rain or severe weather, the event will be canceled. Visit HendricksCountyParks. org for more details.
APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES FEE: $ 5 / PERSON ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED APPROXIMATE PROGRAM DURATION: 1.5 HOURS
Tune in with your senses as we explore our parks, bringing our nature journals along for the adventure! Our naturalists will take you on a guided walk where our goal is to absorb all nature has to offer and learn how to make observations and record them in your own way. Small, simple journals will be offered, but you may bring your own journal if you’ d like!

JUNE 10
The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County’ s Summer Fun Run Series is back for 2026! Enjoy an untimed stroll or run with family and friends at W. S. Gibbs Memorial Park at your convenience anytime between June 10 and June 15. We will offer a short and a long course to run or walk on paved trails and trails with gravel and natural surfaces.( Some trails are not conducive to standard strollers. Jogging strollers with larger tires are a better option.) On June 10 between 4:30 and 6:30 p. m., we’ ll have staff on-site with ice cold water for you to cool down with when you’ re done if you’ d like to complete your run or walk at that time.
