Welcome Center Coming to W. S. Gibbs Memorial Park
Construction began on a new Welcome Center and Administrative Office in Spring of 2026
Hendricks County Parks & Recreation has teamed up with Studio View Architecture and Patterson Horth to construct a new building on the property of W. S. Gibbs Memorial
Park.
Designed by Studio View Architecture, the building will house administrative and naturalist staff members, a classroom, an animal exhibit, and a large rentable exhibition space. Patterson Horth began construction in the spring of 2026, and the building’ s completion is estimated in late spring or early summer of 2027. It will be located directly north of the park entrance.
Among many additional benefits, this new structure will allow our naturalists to hold programming at our most popular park yearround, regardless of weather.
The exhibition space will be rentable for large gatherings, weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats and other activities.
The design and construction of the new Welcome Center is completely funded by the Food & Beverage Tax and the Innkeepers Tax, meaning that there is zero cost to Hendricks County property owners.
