Amber Gideon and Ryann Hoffman joined our naturalist staff in December of 2023 , and they ’ ve both made an immediate positive impact on our department . Let ’ s learn more about them !
Hi there ! My name is Amber Gideon , and I am the new Lead Naturalist for Hendricks County Parks and Recreation . I look forward to sharing my love of nature , culture , and history with you !
I have a bachelor ’ s degree from Ball State University and served as a naturalist at Summit Lake State Park for seven years . I bring with me a passion for nature and natural learning that I hope to incorporate into the programs offered by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation . My goals are to provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy the beauty and peace found in our parks , for years to come .
I can be found in the nature center at McCloud Nature Park . Come by and chat for a while ! I look forward to seeing everyone at our parks this year !
Hello , everyone ! My name is Ryann Hoffman , and I recently started as the new parttime Naturalist here at Hendricks County Parks and Recreation . I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing team and to share my passion for nature with all of you .
I have always loved exploring and learning about the natural world , and recently graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation . I have previous experience at McCormick ’ s Creek State Park serving as a seasonal Naturalist where I led various programs and activities for visitors of all ages . I am looking forward to doing the same here and to getting to know you and Hendricks County Parks better .
