Dip into the vast sea of fishing with park naturalists ! You will learn the basics of fishing while using our provided equipment . Participants will get hands-on practice with various knots needed for fishing as well as proper casting form and fishing safety . NOTE : State law requires fishing licenses for anyone age 18 + who is actively fishing . If you are simply assisting your junior angler , no license is required . Meet at Bluegill Shelter .

Get up close and personal with machines big and small during this event ! Featuring classic and new machines , hands-on activities , and a chance to learn about radio-controlled ( RC ) vehicles as a hobby ! Enjoy snacks from local food trucks while you ’ re there . Take Your Parents to the Park Saturday , May 13 • 1 p . m . McCloud Nature Park
Hey kids ! Bring your parent or a grandparent or that special adult in your life to the park for this program to entertain them ! We will lead them in playing games , and you can create a nature-based personalized craft for you to gift to someone important for Mother ’ s Day , Father ’ s Day , or just because . These programs will offer identical craft options , but time will only be provided to make one . Games will differ between parks ( see page 7 ); you can register for both parks and do both projects and have two different experiences if desired . All supplies will be provided . Before or following the program , feel free to enjoy the available amenities at the park together !

Evening Under the Stars Saturday , May 27 • 6 p . m . McCloud Nature Park
No need to slip on a dress or tighten the bow tie for this enchanting evening under the stars ! As the sun sets , gather with other park enthusiasts for some history and stories of McCloud Nature Park . We ’ ll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the park with a campfire dinner and gourmet s ’ mores while making new memories to put in the record books . More details can be found on page 17 . Following the program , everyone is invited to stay for the Astronomy program and observe various features in the night sky from telescope viewing stations .
