You may be looking to reduce your use of products with toxic chemicals and reduce the amount of plastic in your life . Do all of that by making your own lip balm , sunscreen , and laundry detergent in this hands-on workshop . Making your own products can save you money . Maria Weir , local Earth Friend , will provide the instruction and tips on how to have a healthier lifestyle , for you AND the Earth !

Earth-Friendly Alternative : Beeswax Wraps Saturday , May 14 1 p . m . McCloud Nature Park
Looking for ways to reduce your use of plastic ? Make your own beeswax wraps during this workshop ! Sandra Dailey with The Beekeepers of Indiana will instruct participants in two methods of making their own beeswax wraps . These are reusable and a sustainable alternative to plastic wrap for food preservation . These are also breathable and allow food to stay fresh for longer , reducing food wastage . After each use , beeswax wrap can be washed and air-dried .

Join the naturalists at the W . S . Gibbs Memorial Park playground for engaging nature play on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each summer month from 2 to 4 p . m .! Each session will bring something new and different so don ’ t miss out ! Discover new ways of playing outside !

Beyond the realm of our solar system are some of the most spectacular objects you ’ ll ever see ! Learn to identify and observe them in the deep night sky above McCloud Nature Park ! The Indiana Astronomical Society will present a brief informational session , rain or shine , describing the celestial objects to be observed , followed by outdoor stargazing under clear skies only . Learn to use the powerful telescopes provided to share , or bring your own .
All Astronomy programs are held on Saturdays at McCloud Nature Park . They are recommended for ages 6 through adult , FREE to attend , and no advance registration is required . Each program is approximately 2 hours in duration .
