2021 SUMMER DAY CAMPS Our Summer Day camps at McCloud Nature Park are back for 2021 !
We ’ re offering camps for children ages 2-5 with a parent or adult guardian on Tuesdays at 10 a . m . or 1 p . m . for $ 12 per child / adult tandem . We ’ re also offering camps for children ages 6-12 on Thursdays at 10 a . m . or 1 p . m . for $ 15 per child . Advance registration required . GET MESSY Time to get your hands dirty ! Make mud pies , paint with sticks , and play games that WILL earn a few grass stains . Bring a change of clothes for this one !
GEO HUNTERS Rock and roll your way through the park as we explore the timeless appeal of all things mineral . From the too-smooth river stone to the rough-and-tumble geode , there ’ s a ( pet ) rock for everyone !
MCCLOUD SCHOOL FOR NATURAL MAGIC Does your little wart love the magic of nature and science ? Get them crafting with weird potions , wand-building , and defense against the wild arts in this wonderfully wizard-themed camp .
TRAILBLAZERS This one is for the hearty little adventurers looking to sharpen their outdoor skills . Practice animal tracking and identification , try your hand at shooting sports , and level up your wayfinding — all on the trail . ( Please note that because archery is a part of the Thursday programs , those two camps are only open to children ages 8-12 .)
AQUABENDERS What lives in Big Walnut Creek ? Uncover the mysterious and strange Benthic Macro Invertebrates hiding in the water . Closed-toe , water-suitable shoes are REQUIRED ; towel and change of clothes are highly recommended .
BE A COUNSELOR- IN-TRAINING !
Our Counselor-in-Training ( CIT ) program is back ! If you are between the ages of 13 and 17 and want to encourage outdoor play in younger kids , then this is the program for you ! CIT is designed to help teens learn valuable lifeskills , work responsibilities , and leadership skills through hands-on experience with our park staff , mainly during Summer Nature Day Camps .
