Tadpole Time
Young children are naturally curious . Encourage their curiosity through fun and interactive introductions to nature in our Tadpole Time programs ! Each month focuses on a different topic and features native animals , stories , crafts , and nature exploration . Tadpole Time takes place entirely outdoors at McCloud Nature Park . Ongoing stations offer naturalist-led activities to 1-2
May : Bugs Galore Wednesday , May 5 10 a . m . or 1 p . m . Advance registration required by May 1
Butterflies , beetles , and bees are wandering through the grass and leaves . The ladybug is in the log , the stick bug is upon a twig , but where could the little stink bug be ? Do you know what ’ s different between these three ? We ’ ll grab a net and take a peek ; remember that you have to sneak !

Recommended for ages 2-5 with a parent or guardian . ( Older siblings ages 6-7 are also welcome to register .) Identical sessions are offered from 10 a . m . to noon and again from 1-3 p . m . Only $ 3 per child ! Advance registration is required .
August : Builder Beasts Wednesday , August 4 10 a . m . or 1 p . m . Advance registration required by July 31
Busy beasts like beavers and bees believe the best habitat is one they ’ ve built for themselves . After all , they know how much fun it is to dig , hammer , and shape things to their liking ! Let ’ s build like beasts , using hands and tools to craft with sand , water , sticks , and stones !
