Tadpole Time

Young children are naturally curious ! Encourage their curiosity through fun and interactive introductions to nature in our Tadpole Time programs ! Each month will focus on a different topic and feature native animals , stories , crafts , nature exploration , and ideas for continuing exploration at home !

Recommended for ages 2-5 years old with parent / guardian ( older siblings ages 6-7 are welcome to register also if they want to participate ).

THURSDAY , SEPTEMBER 15 AT 10:00 AM McCloud Nature Park
This month there will be a Tadpole Time at W . S . Gibbs Park in the Firefly Pavilion . Both programs will be the same but in different locations .
Join a naturalist to take a close-up look at some trees around our park . We ’ ll use our thinking caps and senses to distinguish between different types of trees . We ’ ll use scientific tools to investigate who lives in the trees . There are more to trees than meets the eye !

EARTH ROCKS ! THURSDAY , OCTOBER 13 AT 10:00 AM McCloud Nature Park
We ’ ll play with rocks , sand , water , and more while making discoveries about our planet earth . Let ’ s learn about what ’ s below our feet … how much water covers the earth and why we live on this planet . Using games , sensory play , crafts , and more , your tadpole will go home with their world rocked !

Winter is almost here ! People and animals alike do things to prepare for the possible cold , snow , and ice . Discover what the animals of McCloud Nature Park are busy doing to get ready for the upcoming season . Tadpoles will learn ways to help the wildlife around your home through the winter while also learning some tips for their winter fun !
