Plants as Wall Art

Indoor plants add a natural touch to any space, but their decorative possibilities don’t stop at window boxes or hanging baskets. With a few quick snaps of the shutter, you can showcase your plants in a totally new way–as wall art.

Plants come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. Displaying photos of this natural beauty is a quick and inexpensive décor update. Best of all, you’ll get to show off your green thumb and crafty side!

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Snap. Using your digital camera, take close up shots of your collection. Zoom in to capture the different color, texture, and size variations of your species. Try moving around the plant for multiple angles.

2. Style. Choose a collection of frames to display your work. Any size will work; just choose shapes, sizes, and finishes that will complement your décor.

3. Print. If your frame sizes are small enough, you can use a home printer to print out images on photo paper. If you’re looking for a more oversized look, you can take images to a print center- just make sure to have your frame sizes handy.

4. Frame and Hang. Assemble images in frames and hang with nails or mounting hooks. If you’re trying to make a collage look, arrange frames on the floor in a layout you like first. This will make it easier to translate the look to the wall.
