MJ Unpacked

Brings the Fire Back to Missouri

Cannabis Industry Leaders Descend on Kansas City to Do Business

The cannabis industry is still writing its own playbook. That’ s why bringing the right people together to share what’ s working, what isn’ t, and what’ s coming next has never been more important.

Every year brings new research, new genetics, new consumer trends, new regulations, and new technology. Operators are constantly adapting while trying to build profitable businesses in a market that continues to evolve.
That is why industry professionals continue to gather at events like MJ Unpacked. The value is not just in seeing new products or hearing predictions about the future. It is in getting operators, retailers, brands, investors, scientists, and innovators into the same room to exchange ideas and build relationships.
Returning to Kansas City October 14-15 at the Sheraton Crown Center, MJ Unpacked will bring together licensed cannabis operators from across the country for two days of education, networking, and business development. In its third year in the Missouri market, the event continues to connect decision-makers through its curated conference program, trade show floor, and the debut of the MJU MoCann Cup.
Attendance is limited to licensed cannabis operators with managerlevel titles and above, creating a concentrated environment of industry decision-makers looking to discover new products, technologies, and solutions for their businesses.
Here’ s what attendees can expect this October.
Past discussions have explored everything from retail strategy and merchandising to genetics, breeding, technology, capital resources, and the future of cannabis research.
Product, Brand, and Technology Innovation
The trade floor is where operators come to find solutions to business problems and discover the latest technology. But instead of relying only on booth traffic, MJ Unpacked gives exhibitors additional opportunities to connect with decision-makers and explain how their products can support daily operations.
The Pitch Stage gives suppliers three minutes on stage to make their case directly to attendees. Rather than relying on a traditional pitch deck, exhibitors explain what they offer, the problem they solve, and how their product or service can help operators.
The Budtender Slam gives brands a firsthand look at how their products are understood and communicated at the dispensary level. Leading budtenders are randomly given products to evaluate and pitch, offering insight into how frontline staff might talk about those products with customers.

MJU MoCann Cup

Brings Cannabis Competition to Missouri
Peer-to-Peer Education From Industry Leaders The foundation of MJ Unpacked has always been its education program, built around real-world challenges facing operators today.
Rather than relying on broad industry predictions, sessions are developed alongside advisory boards made up of retailers, cultivators, and brands actively building cannabis businesses.
“ Every session at MJ Unpacked is developed in partnership with operators who are actively building cannabis businesses,” said George Jage, founder of MJ Unpacked.“ Our goal is to provide peerto-peer education attendees can take back and put to work in their own businesses.”
After two years of building a successful industry competition in New Jersey, MJ Unpacked is bringing the MJU MoCann Cup to Missouri in partnership with MoCannTrade.
