It seems like the years and seasons quickly fly by. This month, we transition to the fall season, mirroring the rapid changes and progress that have transpired within the Missouri cannabis industry over the past five years. Since the launch of this magazine in 2019, the industry has undergone significant transformations, just like the seasonal shifts. As with the changing seasons, every industry and business evolves, adapting to the challenges and opportunities presented. While there have been occasional challenges, the Missouri cannabis industry has consistently shown resilience and growth. Ultimately, the benefits of this growth are evident in the increased availability of flower, and the ever-expanding product offerings for consumers.
The fall season also signals the time to harvest crops. For the last four years, we’ ve followed and reported on Honey Green Farms, one of Missouri’ s largest outdoor cultivation facilities in Joplin. Each year, its cultivation team has consistently exceeded expectations. In the first year, they established the field; in the second year, they gained experience in cultivation; in the third year, they optimized their practices; and now, in the fourth year, they anticipate recording the largest outdoor harvest per pound that our state has ever seen, according to Honey Green’ s cultivation partner, Mac Briggs. Missouri marijuana retailers’ growth continues to set record sales. July sales data from the DHSS reported a record $ 129.66 million in sales during the month. Adult-use purchases totaled $ 114.91 million, and medical sales totaled $ 14.75 million. Missouri’ s year-to-date marijuana sales for 2025 have reached roughly $ 883.41 million, with the majority of revenue— over $ 700 million— generated from adult-use sales.
