I also listened to a( not creepy) YouTube video of Bernie Sanders encouraging people to run for city council, and he listed the same issues, plus education. Everyone cares about education. We grow as a society through education.
Participating in the city council would be an education of its own, and every new educational endeavor we undertake opens new doors for us, without fail.
Bernie says, when you go door to door, first, ask the two-part question,“ What are you the most concerned about for you and your family, and what would you like me to do about it? Then be an active listener.”
What the average person wants is safety and security for their families, the ability to earn a living wage, a good education, and legal cannabis for everyone. There are hundreds of YouTube videos from prospective and active city council members about their journey to city council and how rewarding the experience has been for these folks, actually helping their communities with basic needs. In addition to solid advice, the shared passion, compassion, and willingness to become part of the solution were present in all the videos.
They ran for the same reason Waxy ran. They are among the“ Mr. Rogers’ People.” And this makes them all incredibly special. When asked what to do in times of crisis, pain, sorrow, and tough times, Mr. Rogers explained in one, three-word sentence:
“ Be a helper.”

strains, and lung disease can all be present in an individual, and they can still be having a heart attack.
The major symptom that is present when the heart is at risk, which is not present when dealing with chronic illness, is fear. The reason fear exists is because we have a Sympathetic Nervous System( SNS) that alerts us when we’ re in danger. This response, known as“ fright / flight” when activated, sparks three thousand separate chemical reactions unleashed simultaneously in our brains, allowing us to turn into Superman for a very brief time, allowing a woman to lift a car off a child, that sort of thing.
In the case of the heart, the SNS knows the critical nature of our hearts. So, when our hearts are in trouble, the SNS sends a warning shot across the bow— fear. Listen to it.

Waxy was a helper. So let’ s honor his legacy and memory and start a Stay Waxy campaign of followers running for city council. Along with an adjoining campaign of friends willing to knock on doors and gather signatures for them. We change the world to be a better place, one door knock and one signature at a time. We have proven that here in Missouri.

Fear is a symptom of a heart attack. When in doubt, check it out. Those of us who love you want you alive!
