November 2017 marked a new beginning for John . Forming a new relationship with cannabis , he became educated and understood it like never before . After becoming a ( legal ) MMJ patient , John had a new understanding of being fully educated about medical cannabis .
Referencing a study , it is believed that “ cannabidiol ( CBD ) reduces drug craving and anxiety in patients recovering from heroin use disorder .” John truly had the opportunity to both medicate and educate about his experience with cannabis , based on date and understanding — something that can be tricky to come by when the plant is still federally illegal and cannot be studied effectively .
He remembers balance finally coming to his life once he began to smoke again legally . “ Life got better , but it still had its ups and downs . When I introduced medical cannabis to my life , that ’ s when life started to calm down and there was more balance .” Using edibles , CBD helped John understand exactly what he was putting into his body , something he would never again take for granted . To manage his day-to-day , John understood the difference between Indica and Sativa products . This made the difference in how he was able to work and remain productive throughout the day .
The trajectory of John ’ s life met a crossroad , and like some , he had to make serious choices . Beyond the scope of cannabis , understanding and educating himself is what made the difference in John ’ s life — from being a consumer to being educated about his medical products .
John is now studying for his Ph . D . and hopes to understand the impact of emotional trauma in children and those struggling with addictions . No one ’ s path is ever spelled out for them , and John ’ s story is a testament to that .
With help and support , if you are struggling with addiction , the road doesn ’ t have to be a straight path to your demise but rather a new beginning .
