Suicide is a terrible thing , but for those left behind , we can keep living , and make a positive difference — even with that pain that stays inside of us . I hope the farm helps people see there is still hope .” said Frase .
Meanwhile , to get the farm and programs launched , Frase and his team of three — Reid Frase ( son ), Deshaun Moore , and Austin Rice — are mowing lawns , tree trimming , and doing auto repair work to support the farm . Frase says his ultimate goal would be to build up the farm to where a lot of people from the neighborhood are working together for the greater good of the community .
“ My neighbor Deshaun is one of the main people helping on the farm . He was heavily involved in the street life before he started working here with us — he is just the best kid and hardest worker . We truly appreciate him and the way he changed his life for the better ,” said Frase .
Frase said that Wayne , Brandy , and Austin were all three literally close to death from alcohol and have gotten sober at Shady Frase Farm since May . Wayne was having seizures so bad ; he required hospitalization . Since he quit drinking , he ’ s had none . All three are also very active in helping at the farm .
Jeff Frase likes to give fun pet names to the farm animals . This is Jeff ’ s son Reid with the farms ’ male pig named Kevin Bacon . On the right ; Mr . Bacon has snuggled in with his new family quite well .
Frase is starting to get the word out with a planned billboard , radio show interviews , a Shady Frase Farm Facebook page , and soon-to-launch website .
