While CBD is known for reducing anxiety , high-THC low-CBD cannabis has the potential for increasing anxiety in some patients , especially schizophrenics . It should be avoided in favor of strains high in CBD , at least 1:1 CBD to THC , if not higher . Factors thought to have sometimes contributed to the onslaught of a patient ’ s schizophrenia may include prenatal stress , nutritional deficiencies , and environmental toxins . Rare , however , is the psychiatric professional who refers patients to a holistic doctor to address those issues . C . G . Jung believed schizophrenia is related to early childhood traumas . He effectively worked with a number of schizophrenic patients using a non-authoritarian psychiatric model — all without drugs .
The body ’ s endocannabinoid system plays a significant role in our health and wellbeing , both physically and emotionally / psychologically . It ’ s now thought that many brain and neurotransmitter imbalances are the result of Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency , and this may , in some cases , apply to schizophrenia , as well . Sensibly and moderately consumed cannabis has shown considerable promise for many afflicted with schizophrenia .
