Year-Round Garden ( YRG ), a supply center for indoor gardeners , will open its new location in Lee ’ s Summit , MO , on Monday , November 1 , with the grand opening event to follow on Saturday , November 6 , with music , free food , drinks , giveaways and more . Founded in 2016 by co-owner Jason Mispagel , YRG has quickly developed a niche , serving growers of all types of plants , including topicals , succulents , fruits , vegetables , herbs , flowers , microgreens , and even cannabis . “ We pride ourselves on being a grow shop for everyone . No matter what you grow or how you grow it , we ’ re here to help ,” said Mispagel .

At 3,500 square feet , the new Lee ’ s Summit location provides twice the available retail space as their flagship Kansas City , MO , store ( 103rd and State Line Road ) while maintaining the same showroom-style design . Demonstration models allow customers to interact with products before they make purchases , and knowledgeable staff can assist with any horticulture or equipment-based questions .
This marks the second expansion for YRG within the past year . In October 2020 , YRG relocated its flagship store from Olathe , KS , to its new Kansas City , MO , location to better serve the growing demand for Missouri ’ s legal , medical marijuana cultivation by patients , caregivers , and facilities . And while the store carries everything needed to grow marijuana , it has a distinctly different character than traditional hydroponic shops .
“ Our goal is to create the most welcoming environment possible for everyone who walks through that door ,” said Mispagel . “ We have customers of all ages , races , genders , and demographics . We have teachers who come in to buy seed-starting kits for their classes , retirees who have converted their garages into potato farms , medical marijuana patients growing for the first time , caregivers buying nutrients in bulk , you name it !”
The new storefront at 1201 NE Rice Road , Lee ’ s Summit , MO , can be found in the Deerbrook Plaza Shopping Center on the northeast corner of 291 Highway and NE Tudor Road , and it ’ s within an eyeshot of the Fresh Green Dispensary off 291 Highway . YRG store hours are Monday-Saturday 9 a . m . – 7 p . m . and Sunday 9 a . m . – 4 p . m .
