COOKING WITH CANNABIS

Dana Howard

Nothing says November like the colorful fall leaves falling from the trees , hoodies , football , and hot wings . I am a Chiefs fan , and one of my favorite game foods is wings ! I don ’ t order mine from a restaurant . I always cook mine at home . I like mine to be nice and crispy . Sometimes I make them with a dry rub ; other times , I want to slather them in sauce , but there ’ s one thing for sure , I never forget my favorite ranch dressing . I know wings can sound intimidating to some , but I have this recipe down pat ( because I eat wings all the time ), and I ’ ve made it super simple and fun .

Some of my favorite wing sauces are ready to use from the store , and some of them I choose to make at home . Whatever you prefer , you can absolutely do . Sometimes , I like Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce , and I ’ ll doctor it up a bit . You can buy it in different spice intensities ; mild , medium , or hot , depending on your tolerance . Then I ’ ll show you how to infuse this sauce with your homemade cannabutter . Another one of my favorite sauces is a Sesame Teriyaki that I buy at my local grocery store . This one gives some Asian flare , but I still eat it with ranch to dip ! I dress it up with toasted sesame seeds and sprinkle on chives at the end . There ’ s also a Polynesian sauce that Chic-fil-A offers in stores , and if you haven ’ t tried that yet , oh boy , you should !
If you ’ re not a seasoned cook , that ’ s okay . You can make these wings at home — it ’ s easy . There ’ s no reason to reinvent the sauce wheel that has already been perfected , but I bet some of my friends out there have some serious sauce recipes that are contest worthy . It ’ s all up to you , your skill level , and your taste .
So , let ’ s get to the bare bones . Where do we buy the chicken wings , and what type do we buy when we ’ re at the store ? Many stores sell frozen wings that are breaded and already sauced . We don ’ t want those ! For the best results , you want fresh / raw chicken wings , non-breaded without any flavoring or sauce on them .
I usually get mine at Costco in the chicken section , but you can find them in nearly all grocery stores in the fresh meat or frozen section .
To Cook Frozen Chicken Wings in a Conventional Oven 1 . Preheat oven to 350 degrees F 2 . Place wings in a single layer not touching on a foil-lined baking sheet 3 . Cook for 50 minutes or until the internal temperature of the wings reads 165 degrees F ( Note : If your wings are not frozen , they will cook in only 30-40 minutes .)
For the infusion , we have a few options . You can infuse your ranch dressing with an infused MCT oil . Because this recipe is not cooked , I would not recommend infusing the buttermilk . Choose the milligram measurement that is right for you . Add that to your ranch dressing while mixing the ingredients together . We can also infuse the Buffalo sauce with the cannabutter that you have on hand . I use two tablespoons in my recipe , but if you desire more or less butter , you can change to your taste .
