Intermittent Fasting and Cannabis

regulating the digestive system, as well as hunger. Consuming THC does stimulate the appetite. As such, if you choose to consume THC while fasting, do so in moderation and only strains with a low THC percentage.
For the inexperienced, fasting can produce some anxiety. For those who are already prone to nervous eating when stressed, this could pose a problem for IF success. Cannabis is widely known for ameliorating anxiety. Fasting for some might produce a headache, particularly if their blood sugar levels drop. It can also stimulate a detox reaction, which can result in a headache as toxins are flushed out. Cannabis is well-known for eliminating and preventing headaches.
Unlike THC, CBD is an appetite suppressant. CBD also has the effect of tamping down the appetite-stimulating properties of THC. Gratefully, there are cannabis strains widely available with CBD to THC ratios of 1:1 and higher. CBD also reduces the anxiety that can lead to emotional eating.
Though we lack human clinical studies to prove it, anecdotal testimonies indicate that IF can improve therapeutic outcomes and enhance the benefits of medical cannabis. A 2020 animal clinical study found that fasting enhances the analgesic effects of cannabis in mice. 3
Methods of Consumption
THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids are fat-soluble. Those who are experienced with edibles know that consuming them on an empty stomach is far less effective, and it takes far longer to feel any effects than consuming them with food( fatty foods in particular). This makes edibles inherently incompatible with IF. Sublinguals, smoking, vaping, etc., on the other hand, are ideal.
