The Blossoming of Missouri’ s Micros

What to Expect as Doors Begin to Open by Samantha Blum, contributing writer

The micro-industry is growing in Missouri, and with it comes a new era of cannabis. As more microbusiness wholesale cultivators commence operations or approach launch, dispensaries across the state are preparing to open their doors to these passion-driven, small-batch brands. What’ s arriving is not just products— it’ s intention, innovation, and a lot of heart.

A behind-the-scenes look at the cultivation styles, product lines, and unique approaches these pioneers bring to the Missouri cannabis market.
Monsta Farms
Roaring onto the scene, Monsta Farms starts strong with 200 to 250 plants grown indoors using living soil. Every plant receives individualized attention— hand-watered and hand-trimmed with exceptional care. It focuses on top- and mid-shelf flowers and pre-rolls, highlighting craftsmanship and quality. This is cannabis that’ s carefully curated and meticulously crafted.
St. Louis Area Microbusinesses( two licensees) Two growers in the St. Louis area are increasing local production volume with 250 plants each and ambitious goals of producing 100 pounds monthly. Their indoor operations rely on controlled agriculture and drip irrigation with coco cubes, resulting in consistently clean and potent flowers.
What sets these operators apart is their integrated launch of a C1D1 lab, which allows them to bring high-quality concentrates to market from day one— including shatter, wax, butter, live rosin, and various resins. Consumers can also expect traditional flowers, pre-rolls, and gummies in 10 and 25mg doses.
In phase two, their next expansion will include dark chocolates, chocolates, and fast-acting water-soluble drink packets. With a lofty goal to double production capacity, they set a high bar for what Missouri micros can achieve.
Urban Farms
Urban Farms is starting strong with 250 plants and a commitment to high-end offerings. With its indoor grow, its initial lineup will include premium flower, water hash, pre-rolls, and hash-infused pre-rolls. Within four to five months, Urban Farms plans to expand its manufacturing to add distillate products, including 510 cartridges and disposable vapes.
Bud Wizard
Greenhouse-grown with light deprivation and old-school craft, Bud Wizard kicks things off with 250 coco-grown plants and a highefficiency drip system fit for a potion master.
Its distillate line goes beyond vapes— think a shelf of potent creations brewed for the modern-day wizard. Phase two brings aeroponic indoor magic alongside its greenhouse with an expanded lineup of craft flower, classic and infused pre-rolls, and gummies. High science meets old stoner soul— just how the wizards like it.
Ozark Mountain Gypsy
With 195 plants— and 40 more soon joining the lineup— Ozark Mountain Gypsy embraces a soulful approach. Its flower is grown in rich soil using a high-pressure Dosatron drip system. The plants are finished in five-gallon pots for optimal development and flavor, featuring six to seven select strains sourced primarily from Holland. Its product offerings will include eighths, quarters, half-ounce flower options, and classic pre-rolls. This is cannabis with character— rooted in nature and rich in spirit.
Blüme
Blüme is taking the boutique approach to heart. Starting with 99 flowering plants and focusing on quality over quantity, this cultivator uses coco-filled fabric pots and carefully hand-waters and hand-trims each plant. Its initial menu features over a dozen strains developed through meticulous phenotype hunting.
Blüme will add house blend pre-rolls, edibles, disposable, and 510-thread cartridges to its product line in phase two. With operations already underway, Blüme is officially in bloom.
Levite Cannabis Co.( Farmington, MO) Levite is preparing to go live within weeks. With 250 plants in an automated coco system and outfitted with commercial LED lighting, its indoor facility delivers clean, small-batch precision. The product line includes pre-packaged flower, 510 cartridges, disposables, pre-rolls, and distillate-based edibles. Passion and detail drive every part of its process.
South O Bones( Three Brands in One) This veteran-owned and operated powerhouse operation runs three brands— Tango Hotel Charlie, Quartz Cannabis, and Slow Mo Medical— all under the South O Bones umbrella. Its 250 plants are cultivated in raised beds of organic living soil, hand-watered, and grown carefully. The team offers flower and pre-rolls and is already developing phase two: a biomass line focused on solventless extracts.
As Missouri’ s Microbusinesses doors begin to open, a new era of locally grown, intentionally crafted cannabis is on the horizon. These aren’ t just businesses— they’ re passion projects rooted in care, culture, and community. The shelves are about to get a whole lot more interesting.
Stay tuned for next month’ s issue with more exciting microbusiness updates.
