Implement the KISS methodology when starting your Grow Journey — “ Keep it Simple Stupid !” There weren ’ t 10,000 companies that sold this and that for cannabis cultivation . Grow methods and practices were developed , taught , and handed down from person to person . This led to simple , straightforward growing practices . Stealthy and quick crop turnarounds were a necessity . You grew with pride , respect for the plant , and passion for the process , all leading to outstanding results .
Growing amazing bud did not require “ Super Duper Specialized Tools ,” flashy bells and whistles , or expensive cannabis toys back then — and it certainly doesn ’ t require them today !
There is a place for the latest gear , especially for very tech-minded folks . If your budget allows and you want every new cannabis toy or trinket the grow industry has to offer , go for it , but for those of you who only think you need that stuff because a pop-up ad or Reddit article told you to , just know that is NOT the case .
Sure , it ’ s hard not to see dollar signs hanging at the end of the branches of a weed plant , but when you can really appreciate what that beautiful tree has to offer , that ’ s when your home grow will achieve next-level greatness and quality .
In my future issue columns , I will take you “ Back to the Basics ” and show you how to cultivate top-shelf quality cannabis utilizing classic techniques and tips mixed with a bit of modern flair . In the end , when you ’ ve got a question — don ’ t Google it ; ask a friend !

Implementing the KISS Methodology :
Step 1 : Get seed , starter cube , and rooting solution .
Step 2 : Soak the cube in water mixed with rooting solution and place the seed in a cube ( seedling tray or starter dome and heat-mat are helpful ).
Step 3 : Keep the cube moist until the seed sprouts , and transplant it into a larger container when roots are visible .
