A plant grown specifically for cloning is called a “ mother plant .” The big bush in the photo ( on the left page ) is my MMXX mother plant . The smaller plant with buds is her twin sister . They were cloned at the same time . The only difference is that I flowered one and kept the other one in a vegetative state . Both plants are the same age and share identical D . N . A .
If I were to start a home grow today , I would do some quick research . Since I am looking for high yield and potency , I look for the top 10 most potent marijuana strains and the top 10 producers . I then compare the lists and look for overlap . I recently did this and found something called “ Chem Dawg .” It is a top 10 in both potency and yield among all the strains in the world . If I were looking for a strain , I might want to look for some seeds of that plant — and I would make sure I got feminized seeds from a reputable grower . Use your own parameters to find something you want to try . Everyone is looking for something different that will fit their individual needs . Do some research work , and don ’ t expect to find or grow a prize strain on the first try .
The photo above shows my six clones from my MMXX mother plant . Over the next few months , I will take you along for the ride as I nurture these cuttings through their life cycle .
