Smokey River Entertainment District Opening Soon
KC ’ s Only Cannabis Friendly Complex and Big 4.20 Event Planned

A new entertainment district is underway just east of Kansas City . The Smokey River Entertainment District will include an amphitheater , two indoor entertainment venues for 15,000-plus people , food and beverage offerings , festival grounds , corporate event spaces , and wedding sites . The amphitheater design showcases an elevated bowl to integrate fans and performers . Clear sightlines and two-level VIP sections allow for a tailored and unforgettable experience . The project is planned in two phases : The first phase will open this spring , and the second phase will open in the spring of 2024 .

music , comedy , and the arts with great views and experiences . The amphitheater venue will feature local , regional , and national shows and performances . To ensure patrons are able to enjoy themselves in a safe environment , ride share , buses , and other safety measures are being designed into the project .
Smokey River Entertainment District is just a 20-minute drive east of downtown Kansas City in the village of River Bend ( near Hwy 210 and Hwy 291 ). The entertainment district will transform the area with the open consumption of cannabis in select venues , giving it the appropriate name of Smokey River . “ We have an opportunity to showcase cannabis and the acceptance of cannabis in our everyday lives . We ’ re normalizing cannabis through hospitality ,” says Joey Pintozzi , President of Besa Hospitality Group ( BHG ). “ This is an entertainment venue first and foremost . Cannabis just happens to be part of that experience . People will be free to legally consume in some of the venues and enjoy being themselves .”
The project plan has already started with clearing trees to set the stage for the festival grounds and the first few buildings . On 4.20.23 , the first phase of the project will be completed for fans to enjoy food and beverages , festival grounds , and the 1,500-seat live music venue . The countdown to this event is on ! Literally , with a countdown timer to the grand opening of phase one on the Smokey River Entertainment District website , you can plan to have a good time enjoying music , food , and cannabis . The project has kicked off with some clearing of the property in preparation for four music festivals , which the venue will host during 2023 .
The event will be headlined by GRAMMY , and Golden Globe nominated recording artist Wiz Khalifa . And Joey Bada $$, Berner , Smoke DZA , and Chevy Woods .
