Interested in Ketamine for the treatment of chronic pain or depression ?
Plan to dedicate around two to three hours per session and commit to a series of sessions . Which will require a financial investment of anywhere from $ 250 to $ 600 per session with a licensed therapist because insurance is not covering it at this point and because all forms other than the FDA-approved Spravato ™ are still considered off-label . Establishing a relationship with a therapist who can help you integrate the experience is something you need to plan on as well .
In the future , Missouri patients may have access to other psychedelics such as psilocybin and LSD ( now known to be a beneficial treatment for certain mental health issues ) following the submission of two bills by lawmakers . One , submitted by Michael Davis representing Jackson , Bates , and Cass counties , allows their use by patients with serious illnesses with a right-to-try law . Followed by Peter Meredith of St . Louis City filing a bill to decriminalize small amounts of controlled substances and reduce the penalty for others who possess more . Personally , I have heard a lot of concerns about medical marijuana from the Missouri legislature , and I assume they will feel even stronger about psychedelics , so it will take a lot of work to get these bills to pass .
As a nurse who has worked with patients utilizing legal alternatives to traditional treatment , such as cannabis and Ketamine , I hear a lot of success stories from those who can afford it . I encourage you to become involved in groups and organizations that want to increase affordable access so that more patients may have the opportunity to find and afford such success .
