Dosing of cannabis will depend on the nature of the autoimmune disease that ’ s being targeted and how far advanced the condition is . Mild cases may only require small doses , whereas more severe cases might need higher THC dosing . CBD on its own is unlikely to produce long-term positive results . However , the psychoactive effects of THC can be tamped down by including CBD in equal or greater parts to THC . Smoking , vaping , edibles , and tinctures are all effective for internal consumption . Cannabis balms and lotions can be an effective treatment for autoimmune skin conditions .
Millions of autoimmune disease patients swear by cannabis for relief of their symptoms , often with considerably greater success and with none of the unpleasant side effects of the pharmaceuticals doctors prescribe . No one has yet claimed that cannabis is a cure for autoimmune diseases . Cures may lie in eliminating and detoxifying from the very things that potentially caused the damage to our immune systems in the first place .
