THC vs . CBD and Appetite :
Several clinical trials have been performed correlating the effects of CBD on appetite . Though it ’ s widely accepted that THC stimulates appetite , the results of CBD are mixed , with some patients reporting mild appetite stimulation but even more reporting just the opposite . CBD can and often does suppress appetite . This may have potential for those seeking weight loss , but CBD should probably be avoided with cachexia patients . Though low-percentage CBD-containing cannabis strains need not be avoided altogether , stick with strains that have at least twice the THC ( by percentage ) as CBD .
Look for 2:1 THC : CBD on labels .
Method Of Ingestion :
For those not already suffering from nausea , oral ingestion may provide longlasting benefits in restoring hunger . Start with a low dose by consuming 2.5mg 1-2 hours before mealtimes , twice daily . If needed , gradually increase the dose over the week up to approximately 10mg twice daily . For those with nausea who still prefer oral administration , one may consume the equivalent as a sublingual tincture . However , many find they prefer smoking or vaping because the onset of relief can be almost immediate .
