While there is an inescapable feeling of community in the local KC music scene , the life of a DJ can be rather lonely — especially considering the goal of a DJ is to bring people together . But in the cannabis industry , Woods finds himself a key part of a team integral to CLOVR ’ s operation .
“ My favorite part of my job is being a part of a company / team that allows me to be heard and valued ,” Woods said .

The sense of community he gets at the job site extends to the multimedia landscape as well . Woods is a member of Sativas on Sunday , a Missouri-based podcast hosted by people who work in the industry .
“ Our goal is to inform , entertain , and highlight all aspects of the cannabis market and culture ,” Woods explained .
While many cannabis workers ( and those who feel like a member of the Missouri cannabis community ) feel a sense of community around them , it is additionally a field that is easy for those in and around it to maximize reach through various multimedia platforms and social media channels . Among those left to feel unheard and undervalued from the pandemic , DJs had no choice but to pivot to wherever they could to make ends meet . But for Maxwell Woods , pressure makes diamonds , and while the beat of the DJ community might have skipped for a while , the combination of music and Missouri cannabis will ensure the beat goes on .

He is a former college baseball player , graduating from Missouri Valley College in 2017 before getting into newspaper and radio news / sports broadcasting in north central Missouri , youth baseball tournament coordination in Kansas City , and eventually into the medical marijuana field .
