We need businesses to show them their products , take the mystique out of our medicine , establish a comfort zone , and turn them into future customers . Together we can weed out a lot of stigma crabgrass , replacing it with a healthier “ weed ,” the cannabis plant , over the three days of the conference .
CEUs
The first day of the POT Conference , Thursday , June 9 , will be about the hemp plant ( 2.75 CEUs ), followed by a networking event at the Guild in KCMO , and the opportunity to pick and enjoy the brains of over a dozen of the brightest physicians and scientist in cannabis medicine in the United States — physicians like author and cannabis researcher Dr , Dustin Sulak . Following Friday ’ s classes , we will have a fundraising banquet at the Midland Theater , providing more networking opportunities .
Many of the speakers are published authors , and their books on cannabis medicine will be on sale at the conference . Look for the bookstore spot just above the cafeteria at Unity Temple on the Plaza during the conference .
The Conference offers a total of 16.75 Healthcare CEUs , and classes are split into blocks . For attendees not needing CEUs , tickets are discounted , and each attendee will get a certificate of completion , which will benefit a resume for those wishing to break into the industry .
Kansas requires 30 CEUs for nurses and 50 for physicians annually . Although Missouri does not require RNs to get CEUs , getting a job in Cannabis Nursing does .
The Goal : Save the Children
Every single educational moment we create and participate in will contribute to the turning of the prohibition tide . A dripping faucet will eventually overflow a bucket . The end game , and it is a critical end game , is getting cannabis medicine to our children suffering from autism ( 1-44 today ), epilepsy , and so many other maladies cannabis can gently treat .
Without Federal reform and removing cannabis from the controlled substance schedule , physicians and hospitals that accept Federal Medicare or Medicaid dollars cannot use cannabis in their practice . Missouri ’ s only exception is Barnes Children ’ s Hospital in St . Louis , MO , and only because they asked for and received a Federal Research Grant for treating children with epilepsy with CBD .
Hopefully , by educating physicians successfully they will realize that not using plant medicine violates their Hippocratic oath of “ Do No Harm .” Then they will have to join us in the push for Federal reform .
