Get the Inside Skinny by Kassie Ferrero , contributing writer
Editor ’ s note :
When you want to know about Missouri ’ s medical cannabis products , you ask the budtenders . They are on the front lines speaking to hundreds of patients weekly ( or daily ) who offer valuable and even not-sogood feedback about the medications used . What may work well for one patient may be different for another . And yes , budtenders can be a patient too . As such , they , too , try many of the newest products sold at their dispensary . We asked Kassie Ferrero with Kansas City Cannabis Company to share her thoughts with our readers . Here are a few of her picks for this month .
Blue Dream flower , a cross of Blueberry and Haze , is a beloved classic for good reason . As the name may imply , the scent is lush and fruity with subtle earthy spice notes . The dominant terpenes in this strain are Myrcene and Linalool , lending to its characteristic berry-sweet aroma . The flower itself resembles of both parent plants — long orange hairs and yellow-gold trichomes inherited from Haze and a medium green hue similar to Blueberry . The flavor on both inhale and exhale falls in line with the smell , predominantly fruity and sweet with hints of earth . The uplifting , energizing effects were first to set in , encouraging creativity and a positive mood . Once the vitalizing rush had settled , I was left with a clear mind and relaxed body . Blue Dream is a great option for any time , but I would reach for this strain in the morning to help kick start the day . Blue Dream is currently retailing at $ 40 an eighth and currently testing at around 16.5 % THC .
Larry OG flower , cultivated by Stability Growers , is no strain to sleep on ! The product of quintessential West Coast strains OG Kush and SFV OG , Larry OG offers the best of each parent . The dominant terpenes are limonene and pinene , both of which are great for inflammation and uplift . The buds are a rich , dark green with wiry orange hairs . The inhale is a flavorful balance of fruit and pine , while the exhale lends a slightly earthy taste . A relaxing , cerebral effect was first to set in , quickly melting into a state of whole-body relaxation with a clear mind . I recommend this strain to anyone looking for daytime pain relief or someone new to cannabis . Larry OG is currently going for $ 40 an eighth and testing at approximately 19 % THC .
Terpwin Station ( flower ), a Terrapin exclusive , is a cross between Original Glue and Mandarin Sunset . The buds are on the pebbly side — to be expected of an Original Glue cross — with a dark green color , brownish-orange hairs , and a slew of light yellow trichomes . Its smell and taste are predominantly earthy , but there are some nuances in its terpene profile that give it a sour chem flavor . For me , the cerebral effects were relaxing , almost like a warmth , and the rapidly growing appetite did not go unnoticed . This would be a great strain for any time of the day , but with its appetite-enhancing qualities , I could see it being best for morning use . Terpwin Station retails at $ 35-45 an eighth and tests at an average of 20 % THC .
Airo cartridges have long been a favorite of mine , and its Pineapple Diesel is no exception . A cross between Pineapple and Sour Diesel , the flavor profile is fruity and bright with a hint
