Delphi Brands cultivation, located in Waynesville, MO, employs a unique mixed-lighting greenhouses for a balanced environment with natural sunlight, which plays a significant role in terpene development and trichome formation for its Borealis and Hermit’ s Delight brands.
Delphi Brands brings what is arguably one of the most sought-after cannabis products to market for true cannabis connoisseurs, and it’ s named“ Piatella,” labeled under Delphi’ s Borealis brand. It’ s the first and only cannabis licensee to introduce this product to the Missouri dispensary shelves.
What is Piatella? To put it simply, it’ s cold-cured bubble hash. For a more in-depth explanation, we turned to Delphi Brands Director of Strategic Growth, Israel Doba.
“ Piatella is a highly specialized form of premium hash made from carefully selected trichome fractions, typically within the 73 – 120-micron range,” explained Doba.“ This hash undergoes vacuum sieving, static cleaning, and an initial cold cure in a nitrogenpurged environment. Following a nucleation period, the material is rehomogenized, wrapped in cellophane, vacuum-sealed, and aged under carefully controlled cold-cure conditions.
“ The final nucleation and aging phase is the most time-intensive part of the process. Some cultivars may reach their ideal consistency and expression within a few months, while others can require a year or longer. Not every batch of hash is suitable for Piatella production, and not every attempt yields the desired result. Through experience, we’ ve found that cultivars with elevated terpene content tend to develop more consistently and efficiently throughout the curing process.
“ Piatella is considered a delicacy because of its rarity, labor-intensive production process, and exceptionally high standards. Very few producers are willing to dedicate the time, resources, and patience required to create it properly. The risk is substantial, the yield is limited, and the process can take many months before a product is ready for market. The result is a truly unique expression of solventless cannabis craftsmanship.”
Delphi’ s brand Borealis began planning its first Piatella batches in June 2025, and the first releases reached select dispensary shelves near the beginning of January 2026. Since then, the team has continued expanding its curing program and currently has several additional batches aging and developing. Some batches have been curing for over a year, as of our facility visit last May.
Delphi Brands cultivation, located in Waynesville, MO, is one of the handful of Missouri cannabis cultivators that use mixed-light greenhouses, balancing environmental controls with natural sunlight.“ Natural sunlight plays a significant role in terpene development and trichome formation,” said Doba.“ In our experience, mixed-light cultivation can contribute to larger, healthier trichome heads and more expressive terpene profiles, both of which are critical factors in producing exceptional solventless products and high-quality Piatella.”
