Cannabis vape pens offer an option for both easy travel and minimal odor. Whether you choose to purchase a cannabis vape pen that is an all-inone disposable model or a replaceable-cartridge, reusable-battery model, it is important to understand that there are different kinds of cannabis extract in these different vape pens.
Cannabis vape pens have become one of the most popular ways for consumers to enjoy cannabis because they are discreet, portable, and easy to use. However, the oil inside cannabis vape cartridges can vary significantly in quality, potency, flavor, extraction method, and overall experience. Some of the most common types of oil you will see in vape cartridges include distillate, live resin, live rosin, and CO2 oil.
Distillate oil is a highly refined cannabis extract that is created through a multi-step extraction and distillation process. The frozen material is then extracted, most commonly using hydrocarbon solvents such as butane or propane in a closedloop extraction system. Because the plant is frozen immediately after harvest, live resin often captures more of the strain’ s original flavor, aroma, and effects compared to distillate. Live rosin vape oil is another premium category that has gained significant attention among cannabis enthusiasts. Unlike live resin, live rosin is considered a solventless extract. Producers start with fresh-frozen cannabis that is processed into bubble hash using ice water and filtration screens. The hash is then pressed using heat and pressure to squeeze out a terpene-rich oil known as rosin. Because no chemical solvents are used, many consumers view live rosin as one of the cleanest and most natural forms of cannabis concentrate.
