First Microbusiness Dispensary Opens to the Public

Microbusinesses Moving Forward
In June, the state updated its microbusinesses Approved to Operate( ATO) list, signaling steady progress for the program. With each new approval, more locally grown products make their way onto dispensary shelves, bringing fresh momentum, new options for consumers, and a continued push toward a more community-rooted cannabis industry. The Ozark Mountain Gypsy brand will soon be hitting shelves at 816 Dispensary.
Micro cultivators with ATO status as of June include:

● Kush21 Dispensary – Poplar Bluff
Monsta Farms cultivation planned to open by the last week of June, launching with a strong start of 200 plants. Monsta brings bold design, generational cultivation knowledge, and cultural pride to the Missouri market, adding even more depth and diversity to the local cannabis landscape.
Two to four new micro cultivators are looking to come online in July, bringing fresh, small-batch flowers into dispensaries across the state. It’ s an exciting time, and momentum is finally building.
Save the Date: 816 Day Grand Opening
While the soft opening brought in a wave of support and excitement, the official 816 Dispensary Grand Opening celebration will take place on August 16—“ 816 Day.” A celebration of Kansas City pride and independent cannabis, this event will showcase not just a dispensary but a movement built on authenticity, equity, and connection. Expect community engagement, local brands, fellow micro licensees, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate what’ s growing in Missouri.
