Edibles are , quite possibly , the product you will see the most of on dispensary shelves in Missouri , aside from flower or pre-rolls . When we look at the broader cannabis industry across the country , edible companies are arguably the largest sector when we look at products manufactured from raw cannabis flower . There are many different kinds of edibles you can purchase from dispensaries . Edibles are also something that , with a bit of effort , you can create at home if that works better for your lifestyle . This column will discuss both .
Now that adult-use cannabis is legal in Missouri and all adults have access to shopping at dispensaries regardless of if they are medical marijuana cardholders or not , consumers have many options for edibles . Edibles are now available in a wide variety of products , everything from gummies , chocolate bars , pretzels , potato chips , to coffee
and other drinks to name a few . Some edibles are perforated with segments for dosing , and some are individual candies that are dosed per piece . When shopping for edibles , it is important to consider these factors : taste , price , sourcing , and dosing information .
Taste is obviously important as you want to find the edible easy to eat and enjoy . For example , if you don ’ t like sour candies from the grocery store , then chances are you will not like cannabis edibles that are sour gummies . Also , some people seeking cannabis for therapeutic purposes may have different dietary restrictions that keep them from being able to eat chocolate or other ingredients in edibles , so that is also something to be conscious of . As I mentioned , fortunately , there are many different types of edibles on the market to enjoy !
Likewise , price is an obvious consideration as you don ’ t want to overspend on a product you can price check or create yourself at home ( read on for more about that !). While price is important , we also must consider the sourcing of the edible , which includes where the raw material came from to make the edible , as well as the company manufacturing the product line . As with all brands you purchase from dispensaries , it is important to make sure you know the brands you are purchasing create a quality product and are both ethical and socially responsible .
Lastly , when purchasing an edible at a dispensary , you must consider dosing . Being knowledgeable about how dosing works with edibles can make or break your experience as
