Cannabis & PMS

Can Cannabis Ease Pre-Menstrual Syndrome ?

processed food product contains soy . Not tofu , mind you , which is easily-digestible fermented soy curd , but just soy , which for many people is difficult to digest . Americans now consume dramatically more soy than those “ healthy soy consuming ” Japanese . Like so many other things we Americans adopt , we take a good thing and screw it up . We ’ re now getting way too much of a good thing . Cutting back on soy necessitates cutting out processed foods and fast foods .
Cannabis and PMS
Cannabis-based pain management is now well established , including studies with specific types of pain , including cramps . The same is the case for cannabis ’ benefits to emotional issues . However , to date , there has been little in the way of clinical studies specific to cannabis and PMS . What we have to rely on is largely anecdotal . Gratefully , there is no shortage of women who have testified to the benefits of cannabis for PMS . Such testimonials aren ’ t challenging to find online .
Selecting the right strain is important for targeting specific PMS and menopausal symptoms .
● For example , if you ’ re experiencing anxiety , you ’ ll probably want to stay away from Sativa-dominant strains . Sativa strains can be great for daytime since they ’ re energizing and elevating .
● However , Sativa-dominant strains are not recommended for those who may be predisposed to anxiety .
● High-THC strains , in general , may not be a great choice either , as excessive THC can induce anxiety .
● Indica-dominant strains are relaxing and may be a better choice . Indicas are also helpful for inducing sleep .
Although THC is proven effective for many forms of pain , including cramping , some women swear by CBD-dominant strains for treating their PMS . Be aware , however , that CBD can interfere with sleep , particularly if consumed right before bedtime . Don ’ t be afraid to experiment with different strains to find what works best for you .
