New Year ’ s Resolutions
for Cannabis Users
Pick something that will let you work smarter and is more enjoyably to accomplish .

English musician Tom Fletcher once said , “ Find that thing where working hard at it makes you happy , and where you ’ re happy to work hard at it .”
As we approach another round of New Year ’ s Resolutions , I feel like this quote equates perfectly to the mindset needed for some of us to stay the course of our aspirations . If I ’ m going to actually hold mine for an entire year ( heck , even six months would be way beyond my past personal record ), then I will have to pick something that will let me work smarter and is more enjoyable to accomplish .
If you are the same way as me — which might be a safe assumption if your nose is in the middle of The EVOLUTION Magazine — then please consider the following New Year ’ s Resolutions for cannabis users who want to grow in their passion for the plant and their understanding of the Missouri cannabis industry ’ s many amazing brands and products !
Resolution # 1 : Try different brands !
Humans are creatures of habit , but many cannabis consumers don ’ t mind mixing up brands or strains they ’ re smoking .
There are certainly reasons why someone would be best off sticking with a specific brand . Economic strain often leads people to

choose a specific brand because it provides the best value for the cost , which is certainly understandable and valid ; others might stay with one brand as it is the only license growing a specific strain that best accomplishes the medical desire sought .
I would NEVER recommend someone stop purchasing a specific brand or strain if the price is appropriate for what you can afford at the time or if you find whatever helps you accomplish what you need from a medical perspective . For those who want to branch out or are less confined to certain limitations , however , try mixing up where your cannabis comes from ! Different dispensaries carry different products and have different rewards programs or weekly discounts that can help it make sense for you to try strains and brands you aren ’ t familiar with or have tried ! Much like with two restaurants that both serve burgers or chicken wings , you might be surprised at how different the product is from Company A to Company B — you might walk away with a new favorite .
Resolution # 2 : Attend popups and cannabis events !
One of the most dynamic features of the
Missouri cannabis industry is the branding work that goes into getting a company ’ s products into stores and subsequently off shelves . Each company and brand has its limitations on resources for promotions and branding . Still , many understand the importance of popups — sending a brand ambassador or
representative to a partner dispensary or event to help educate consumers on its products and ( usually ) hand out cool company swag , such as sunglasses , lanyards , T-shirts , and other gadgets .
While pulling up at a popup ( or cannabisrelated event , such as the Stoner Cinema event Proper held in Chesterfield on December 2 that other brands also attended in unison ) is a great way to secure a sweet new T-shirt , the true utility of popups is the fact that the public can have 1-on-1 conversations with the brand representative . While we shouldn ’ t expect the brand rep to know everything about the product ( for instance , asking specifics about the soil used will probably lead to mixed results ), they will be able to point you to the products they offer that you might be fond of or answer any other questions about how cannabis could impact you !
Resolution # 3 : Try different kinds of products !
