Missouri Medical Cannabis Sales Break Record for Sixth Straight Time

Missouri medical cannabis sales broke a monthly mark for the sixth straight time in November as the industry aims to top $ 200 million in cumulative sales for 2021 .
The $ 25.95 million in sales last month brings the total amount purchased by medical cannabis patients in Missouri to more than $ 186 million since the first dispensary opened in mid-October 2020 . At that growth rate , the industry should easily exceed $ 200 million in retail sales for 2021 , its first full year of operation .
“ In retail , December sales are often the highest of the year — and we similarly expect another strong month to cap what has been a historic year for both Missouri ’ s medical cannabis license holders and most importantly , patients ,” said Andrew Mullins , executive director of MoCannTrade ( The Missouri Medical Cannabis Trade Association ).

Raymore , MO , residents now have access to a medical cannabis dispensary . The Source medical cannabis dispensary opened its doors on December 8 , in the heart of Cass County located at 1905 W . The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services through Friday had approved the opening of 179 dispensaries , 56 infused product manufacturers , and 40 marijuana cultivation facilities . To date , more than 300 such facilities have been approved to operate ,
The state agency has licensed and certified a total of 385 facilities to cultivate , manufacture , test , transport , and dispense medical marijuana to Missouri patients .
Through December 6 , 2021 , the state reports issuing 5,833 of the required state agent ID cards to work in medical cannabis facilities . All but 200 of those jobs have been added in the past year .
Missouri also continues to see steady increases in medical marijuana patient enrollment , with nearly 160,000 Missouri patients and caregivers now licensed by the state .
