On a Mission from Carroll County
Reflecting on “ Growing Belushi ,” Steinberg is adamant about the show ’ s cause . “ The reason that Jim wanted to make the show was to educate and change the stigma ,” says Steinberg . “ How do we change the stigma that cannabis is a gateway drug ? The TV show was about changing that through education , making people aware that this plant is medicine . It ’ s not about the bad of the plant but the good of the plant . He wanted to show people that it ’ s okay to walk into a dispensary , that this medicine is mainstream .”
It ’ s safe to say that in the world of cannabis , Jim Belushi is one of the most notable stars . With his quick wit and adaptable intellect , Belushi comes across as a man who is just as easily at home in a smalltown dive bar as he is in a board meeting . His knowledge of genetics and cultivars is unrivaled at this scale , as he travels the world to collect the best and rarest strains for Belushi ’ s Farm and Blues Brothers .
“ Jim ’ s been very strong in bringing our Oregon grow standards and genetics to the rest of the country , and that ’ s been our viewpoint since day one ,” said Steinberg . “ Belushi ’ s Farm is an artisanal grow . We ’ ve maintained this standard since the beginning , and I believe C4 has that same vision .”
Steinberg doubles down , “ We ’ re very careful who we partner with . It ’ s about people . It ’ s about care , vision , marketplace , how we are perceived , and our ability to grow a high-quality product consistently ,” he said . “ We do it where we can be true partners ; it ’ s not just a vendor relationship . We want to be partners . If you take a look around the country , our partners are single-state operators , family-run , producing high-quality products . C4 is for us , 100 % on point , and fits directly with how we operate .”
This statement is no truer than when you consider C4 ’ s impact on the Missouri cannabis market . The first to break ground when the state went medical in 2020 , C4 was founded on the ideology of growing Clean Green ® certified flower , taking a hit in production costs to deliver a high-quality cannabis product at a reasonable price point . Gaining a cult-like following of loyal veterans and patients alike , C4 ’ s heavy-hitting strains are known throughout the state . C4 has proven time and time again that you can cultivate and manufacture quality products and pay your employees a thriving wage , all while keeping
30 January 2025 it in the family . It ’ s an ethos rooted in midwestern values , as C4 is and has always been Missouri-owned and Missouri-grown .

“ Jim is a midwestern guy with midwestern values , and the Blues Brothers brand is the working man ’ s brand . Missouri is the working man ’ s state . There ’ s alignment in the views inherent within the cannabis customer base in Missouri state ,” Steinberg iterates . Jim Belushi with jugs of nugs at Belushi ’ s Farm in Oregon . Values and all , C4 , Blues Brothers , and Belushi ’ s Farm have far more in common than most brands in the industry . With C4 being the first and only cultivation and manufacturer to bring a Clean Green ® certified cannabis concentrate to the state , its highly sought-after Bubble Hash , it only makes sense that we are thrilled to bring not only Belushi ’ s and Blues Brothers ’ popular cultivars ( like Mule Fuel , Hashburger , and Cadillac Rainbows ) but also to introduce Missouri to its Temple Ball Hash .
“ Hash is what we all grew up with , and we wanted to bring a quality hash product to the cannabis market . C4 is well known for its ice water hash , and it ’ s only appropriate that we ’ ve partnered with the best that know how to manufacture temple balls to our standard in the state of Missouri ,” Steinberg expresses with pride .
Along with its Temple Ball Hash , C4 will be rolling out Belushi ’ s Farm and Blues Brothers Indica heavy rosters of flower , concentrates , and pre-rolls in 2025 , with flower products coming to your favorite dispensary shelves in January .
With the background noise of the December MJBiz conference revving up behind Mr . Steinberg and C4 ’ s lively cultivation crew filling the breakroom , it ’ s time to wrap up our call . As we exchange logistics for Jim Belushi ’ s upcoming visit to local Kansas City dispensaries and the release party happening the weekend of January 17 , there ’ s a huge excitement in our outro . We say our goodbyes with a sincere , “ Be safe . See you soon !”
It ’ s 3 p . m . in the afternoon , and , once again , I find myself standing with the cultivation crew at the crossroads of the long C4 corridor . Only this time , it ’ s a cold winter day , snow is on the ground , and the distinct smell of C4 ’ s Bubba Fett and Belushi ’ s Farm ’ s renowned “ Mule Fuel ” strain permeates the air . It is in the thick , terpene-saturated air , an amalgamation of C4 and Belushi ’ s Farm , that we all return to our task at hand — to “ chop wood , carry water .”
