Getting a clearer picture of who Mama Anita is could absolutely assist in the efforts put forward toward destigmatizing both cannabis consumers and industry workers . Still , she worries there is still quite a way to go before the job is done .
In the fast-paced cannabis industry , work can stack up quickly . Fortunately , Mama Anita Evans does a good job of staying ahead of the curve , and making sure all regulations and requests are hit throughout the shipping process .

“ What I want people to know about me more than anything is that , yeah , I smoke , but I ’ m a productive member of society , and I ’ m a good person ,” said Evans . “ Everyone here [ Missourians ] needs a little more education because there are a lot of people who place cannabis in the same category as opioids and stuff , and I feel like people need to be educated more and understand it more .”
Despite thinking — fairly — that this part of the country wouldn ’ t be creating so many legal cannabis jobs so quickly (“ Not in the buckle of the Bible Belt … I didn ’ t think it was even possible until a couple of years ago , I was like 51 years old ,” Evans said ), she has been not only a shining star for Elevate Missouri but also a loving , devoted and stigma-breaking member of the Missouri marijuana scene .
Don ’ t forget to check future issues of The EVOLUTION Magazine for more profiles of cannabis workers from all backgrounds , and , like Mama Anita , don ’ t forget to spark a joint and make the world a better place today .
