Sift Hash
Think of a four-part grinder. The bottom chamber has a little screen on top, allowing all the good little bits of“ dust” to fall through.
Items Needed
Trim / buds( freezing helps but is not necessary) Silk Screen printing screen Clean work surface Credit style card or razor blade
Silk Screen ‒ they also make sifter boxes.
The Process
1. Prop screen up several inches above a clean, non-porous surface; preferably glass.
2. Take a handful of dry material and gently rub it across the screen in a back-and-forth or circular motion.
3. The trichomes will fall through. h Less sifting = less plant material = more potent.
4. Use a stiff card or a blade to scrape the“ Kief dust” into a readyto-smoke product.
5. Or smash into a ball or leave as powder for dusting over bowls and in joints.
6. The trichomes will fall through the first bag’ s sifting screens into the other two bags. The first bag is just plant material for discarding. The second two bags are for collection, and the leftover water in the bucket is to be discarded.
7. Discard the bag with plant material. Drain and place the other bags onto paper towels to facilitate drying.
8. Use a spoon to collect material from the bags, set it on a dish or mesh screen, and allow it to air-dry.

Ice Hash
Results: Here’ s your sift hash— Kief dust
Remember: Don’ t Throw Away Your Sugar Leaves!
Items Needed
Trim / buds fresh or dry Bubble bags Paper towels Rounded spoon – plastic or smooth metal Ice and water Bucket and drill with a clean paint mixing tool
Ice Hash Bags have 3 mesh opening sizes.
The Process
1. Freeze plant material to be used. This makes the trichomes brittle, and they will fall off the plant more easily.
2. Place the three bubble bags, each bag into the other by the size of the mesh opening, in the bucket. The top-most bag has a wider mesh to catch plant material for discarding, and the bottom two bags have fine mesh to catch the crystals, which become your hash. 3. Fill the bucket with water 3 ⁄ 4 full, then top off with ice. 4. Input the plant material into the bag with the widest mesh opening and stir. The stirring will knock off the crystals, which will fall through the first bag and settle in the second two. h Less stirring = less plant material = more potent.
5. Allow water to settle.

Gerry Donovan, the owner of Emerald Garden Grow Supply, Raytown, MO, says,“ I am not a plant Biologist nor a Chemist. I do not have any formal cannabis plant education, as that was a non-existent thing before today’ s world. I do, however, have a passion for cannabis, which words fail to describe. I’ ve traveled throughout Europe, including Amsterdam, Spain, and Canada, where I not only ventured into the world of seeds and genetics but also continue my quest to learn as much as I can about Growing the Plant. Over the last 23 years, I’ ve developed my own Grow Methodology through trial and error with love and passion. I hope to guide you on the pathway to enjoying the best cannabis you have ever consumed— your own homegrown!” Cannabis – Education – Wellness.
