Live Resin ?
Q : What solvent do you use in your extractions ?
A : Our live resin is produced with 100 % n-butane . It ’ s got a very low boiling point , which allows us to run it at a very low operating pressure , helping us to create the ideal hash . For anyone worried , we purge all the butane out , and all Proper Cannabis extracts go through rigorous analytical lab testing .
To ensure that our extracts are true representations of the plants — whether they ’ re single strains or mixes — we diligently clean our extractor between each production batch . That means , between each run , we take the time to do an additional run to make sure the machine is clean and void of any additional terpenes or small remnants of hash that may be left behind . You will experience the differences in flavor and effect in our products because of this cleaning process .
We don ’ t take any shortcuts . Our extracts never see a secondary solvent or a Color Redamation Column ( CRC ).
Q : What kinds of extracts does Proper make ? A : We sell badder , diamonds and sauce , and live resin pens .
Badder is a form of extract that is physically agitated by hand . That means that when you smoke badder , you ’ re smoking thousands of tiny crystals covered in a terpene solution , which is what gives it that consistency . Incorporating small amounts of oxygen allows it to get a “ whipped ” texture . On average , badder takes roughly 24 hours to create .
Our live resin pens are the “ Diamonds and Sauce ” — and realistically , the closest thing to having high-end dabs in a cartridge form . We melt the diamonds and reintroduce them to the sauce without having exposed them to the heat required to melt the diamonds . This process delivers a live representation of the plant in a portable , discreet , and easy-to-use cartridge . We also use a variable voltage battery , which allows patients to control the temperature that they ’ re hitting the live resin with an adjustable airflow cartridge .
Q : What ’ s your preferred way to consume Hash ?
A : I prefer to dab through a mini-tube on a quartz nail somewhere between 450-500F . My favorite piece to use is by @ Deestrukt .
Q : What are Proper ’ s future extraction plans for 2022 ?
A : My goal is to have 40 different mixes or single-strain extracts across pens , badder , and diamonds and sauce available statewide by year-end or sooner . We also hope to offer solventless extracts by the end of the year .
Diamonds and Sauce are realistically the same product as badder , just finished differently . The so-called “ Diamonds ” are created using heat , pressure , and an extended amount of time . We allow our crystals to form naturally in a low-temperature environment , growing as large as possible , which can take anywhere between 14 and 60 days . On average , it takes about 30 days to make . As the THC crystals form and sink to the bottom , the terpene solution stays on the top . We then separate them completely and purge them separately , which , in the end , gives us a higher quality product .
