This Goat Milk SOAP Smells Yummy !
Goat Milk Drop Biscuits and Orange Marmalade
by Chef Dana Cunningham
It ’ s April , and I love the smell of the rain in the air . We already have potatoes , carrots , and onions planted for spring . I am getting starter plants ready now . Tomatoes , peas , pole beans , and brussels sprouts will go in the dirt this May . All my flowers are growing nicely as well . I can ’ t wait until they all bloom for the bees to enjoy .
If you remember , we got a couple of goats for Christmas . They provide us with delicious , creamy milk every day . We chose to get Nigerian dwarf goats because they have the highest milk-fat content . You must try this milk ! You will taste a huge difference between our goat milk and the goat milk at the store . People give it to their babies because it is easier to digest . They also give it to their dogs who are on special diets .
Goat milk is used more widely than cow ’ s milk worldwide and is easier for our bodies to digest naturally . Some folks who cannot digest cow milk are still able to digest goat milk just fine . We have been experimenting with different recipes and have made mozzarella cheese , goat milk soap , shampoo , soap for our bulldog , and other fun things , but this biscuit recipe is a go-to for me now . It is so easy you won ’ t believe it . I can whip them up in less than five minutes and have them ready to go in the oven before my oven is finished preheating .
We will be getting ready for kids ( baby goats ) in May , so we are going to be drying up our goats ( the milk ) until they have their kids ( babies ). It is a very exciting time for us because we do not know exactly how many babies we will have ! We will keep all the females and sell the males as pets . Goats are so very friendly and loving . They are like big dogs . They follow me all around the yard and eat all the pesky weeds I used to have to pull ! I just need to keep them out of my vegetable garden ! They love to eat the lettuce !
Okay , are you ready to make some super-fast biscuits ? The orange marmalade is super easy as well . Don ’ t be intimidated . You will need a food thermometer because once the marmalade reaches 222 degrees Fahrenheit , it is ready to jar up . Remember , it is okay to use the orange peel in this recipe . That ’ s what makes it a marmalade ! This biscuit and marmalade combo is delicious !
