As mentioned , these products are very pure , typically containing between 50 % and 95 % THC depending upon the type of extraction and the skill level of the extractor . When this concentrate , free of plant matter , is put onto a hot surface , it bubbles away , creating a flavorful and potent vapor that can then be sucked through the mouthpiece of whatever device you use for dabbing .
The original , and still perhaps the most common , dabbing method uses a glass water pipe similar to a bong , often called a “ dab rig .” This type of dab setup consists of a few pieces :
● The rig itself .
● The nail ( that ’ s the metal or quartz piece attached to the rig that is actually heated up ).
● The dabber ( the dentist-looking tool that scoops and holds the dab of concentrate ).
● A torch to do the heating .
Dr . Dabber offers award-winning vaporizers for dabbing .
If that sounds like a lot , that ’ s because it is ! This is why companies have engineered devices referred to as “ e-nails ” that plug into the wall or use a battery to keep the nail at a consistent temperature , allowing for a somewhat customizable flavor and vapor thickness . Companies have also innovated many other devices to make dabbing easier , including battery-operated handheld devices and even dab pens and electric “ nectar collectors .”
Dabbing is only one method of consuming cannabis concentrates . It is not something to try if you are a new consumer still trying to familiarize yourself with cannabis and the variety of products on the market . However , dabbing can be a nice option if you are an experienced consumer or suffer from extreme physical pain because of a debilitating condition or disease . Make sure , as always , that you source quality cannabis brands and products for your dabs and ask the budtender lots of questions when you do your dispensary shopping .
Do some of your own research and decide if trying dabs is a good idea for you before you go all in .
