Patients Out of Time began its mission to educate healthcare professionals and the public about the endocannabinoid system ( ECS ) and the therapeutic use of cannabis in 1995 . Patients Out of Time presented the first of its National Clinical Cannabis Conference series in 2000 as a biennial event , but by 2015 , they made it an annual event due to the enormous amount of research and interest on the vital role of the Endocannabinoid System ( ECS ) in maintaining and regaining health . Since its inception , most states have accepted cannabis or at least CBD products made from hemp as medicine .
Patients Out of Time will host its 15th National Clinical Conference on Cannabis Therapeutics at the Unity Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City , MO , on June 9-11 , 2022 , and a fundraiser banquet dinner at the historic Midland Theater on Friday , June 10 .
This conference series has earned a strong reputation for quality education provided by leaders in cannabis research and clinical practice . The theme is The Endocannabinoid System & Beyond and celebrates the fact that it was in Allyn Howlett ’ s research lab at the Saint Louis University in St . Louis , MO , where the first endogenous cannabinoid receptor was discovered . This conference also comes to Kansas City to celebrate a large community of grassroots activists who were responsible for the passage of the medical cannabis program in Missouri and the submission of new medical cannabis bills in Kansas .
