When we think about medicating with edibles , one big thing comes to mind — Gummies . I know a lot of us have tried the candies , cookies , and gummies from dispensaries , but have you ever wanted to make some yourself ? What if I told you that you don ’ t even have to know how to make candy with this method ?

Sometimes we can get overwhelmed by all the special equipment needed to make candy or gummies , and all the extra ingredients can get a little pricy . I was on a mission to find the easiest infused candy method in my early years just so I could get some quick and tasty treats made . I ’ m sharing the method that I found to work the best !
Through trial and error , and a few hours of research , I decided that instead of making gummies , which takes a totally different process , I would try a candy . The method that I am about to share with you does not require any special equipment , making it super easy , and you can make it at home with what you already have in the kitchen ! It is easy , and if you already have your infused oil ready to go , it can be done in about 30 minutes !
I love this recipe because making candy can be scary for folks who have never done it before , and it takes the fear out of making your own edible candies . It is the easiest recipe out there , but there are a few things that you should remember to make it a cinch !
● Make sure you are using the full-size Starburst candies because the minis that are unwrapped won ’ t melt like the big ones . Yes , you can mix the flavors to make a unique flavor that you want ! Try Strawberry and lemon together and see what you think ! Get creative ; this is your experiment !
● If you don ’ t have a microwave , you can use a double boiler method to melt the candies . It will take a little longer , but you will have the same outcome .
● Remember to always use parchment paper on the bottom of your baking dish , or you will have a very hard time getting the candies out . If you sprinkle sugar on the bottom , it will also help absorb any excess oil that didn ’ t get mixed in . Sometimes the oil and the starburst have a hard time combining , so I have found that if you start with warm oil , the mixing will be a lot easier .
● I also spray my spatula with nonstick spray when I am mixing because the melted candy is very sticky !
● Do not put the candy in the refrigerator to cool . I have done this before , and when I took it out , it was as hard as a rock ! The candy will cool quickly on the kitchen counter .
Ingredients
● ¼ cup of infused MCT oil
● 40 Starburst chews half strawberry and half lemon ( or your favorite flavors )
● ¼ cup of granulated sugar
The Method
1 . Line a square 6 ” x 6 ” baking dish with parchment paper and dust with sugar
2 . Unwrap all the candy chews and place them in a microwavesafe bowl
3 . Microwave in increments of 2 minutes and take out to stir each time
4 . Once the candies have all melted together , stir in your infused MCT oil
5 . After the mixture is thoroughly combined , pour the mixture into your baking dish or mold and dust the top with sugar
6 . Let sit for 30 minutes and then cut into bite-size squares !
This is my simple , non-candy-making technique to quickly make some infused candies , but you could absolutely make your own candies to infuse if you feel the urge ! Don ’ t forget to send me pictures of your homemade creations and any questions you might have about infusing !
