Later, as the academic excellence of the school spread, upper class children also sought enrollment into to ECF. Today, Fieldston is a private school with high tuition fees. In addition, it is known to be one of the strongest, most elite schools in New York and is a member of the Ivy
Preparatory School League.
The primary goal of the school today is threefold. First and foremost, ethical learning is emphasized. Educators facilitate students in becoming responsible members of the community. Students are expected to do community service, which is regarded crucial in their personal development. The second educational vision of the school is academic excellence. The students are constantly challenged and a variety of methods are used in stimulating them to think critically and become creative. The school embraces progressive education, encouraging and
promoting team projects and group work.

school was established in 1878 first to operate as a kindergarten, but by 1880 the kindergarten evolved into a school. Adler’s idea was to provide
