Walk to Remember
Event – Tatton Park
Last year saw the Cheshire Walk to
Remember event for Marie Curie when
over 700 walkers took part in a twilight
walk at Tatton Park. This year’s event
will take place on Saturday 8th August,
and is open to walkers of all ages, so grab
your friends, relatives and even your four
legged friends, and remember someone
special to you on this enchanting 10k
twilight walk to help raise funds for local
people suffering with a terminal illness.

Following the walk participants settle
down in front of the stage to enjoy the
entertainment, and tuck into the picnics
and fizz they have brought along. The
evening comes to a climax with fireworks
and a moment to reflect and celebrate the
lives of loved ones we have lost.

Marilyn Armstrong the Chair of Marie
Curie’s South Warrington fundraising
group took part in the walk last year “I
loved being a marshall at last year’s Walk
to Remember at Tatton Park. It was such
an uplifting and to remeber inspiring
experience to see hundreds of people
fundraising for such an amazing cause’.
last year’s walk, the atmosphere on the
night was incredible. It was lovely to see
families and groups of friends walking
in memory of loved ones and everyone
thoroughly enjoyed it. Tatton Park is such
a picturesque backdrop to a truly amazing
event! Our walkers raised £40,000 last
year, which helped us provide nursing
care for over 2,000 hours, which is 83
days. This year’s Walk To Remember
bigger and better! So grab your family,
friends and colleagues, and join us for a
truly magical night!”
We’re asking each walker to aim to raise
£100, which pays for five hours of care.
With your help, Walk to Remember at
Tatton Park will raise significant money to
care for even more people with terminal
illnesses and provide support for their
families. Every additional £20 raised will
provide another hour of care and £180
pays for a nurse’s full shift.
